OCT 23, 2014 i am curious
Dordt College presents “I am curious: awe and oddity in the otherverse,” an art exhibit by Harold Sikkema. His collection will be on display October 23 to November 30 in the Dordt College Art Gallery in the Campus Center. The gallery is open and free of charge to the public every day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
A reception will be held Thursday, October 23, from 6:45 to 8:30 p.m., with a gallery talk at 7. Refreshments will be provided and all are invited.
Sikkema has a B.A. in fine art and multimedia from McMaster University, Canada. He is a visual artist, graphic designer, and web and app developer based in Caledonia, Ontario. His montages, or “paintings,” can sometimes be made up of more than 100 merged photographs and are explorations into the metaphoric languages of art and religion. Sikkema’s work is inspired by the idea that “curiosity is perhaps the most curious thing of all.”
