I inherited a dresser from Mark Krikke with an almost-convincing cherry veneer and a surface slab of Formica (TM). This being of the 1970s marble variety, I was less than enthralled with its appearance (I covered it with a towel). But on the other hand, when strategically snapped in half, you get patterns such as these. I like to think of them as a mountain range of sorts. Not the variety liable to put you in a sublime trance, but a mountain range all the same.
